Full-Time Head of Marketing
Who are we and why should you work here?
WORQ is an upcoming coworking space in Kuala Lumpur, backed by Cradle, 500 Startups, Space Matrix, and a few other private investors. We’ll be the first-ever massive coworking space in Malaysia, covering up to 25,000 sqft and housing over 100 teams, enabling us to fuel collaborations on a scale never seen before in Malaysian startup history. And it’s only the first of 70 outlets we’ll be setting up all around Asia.
It’s a massive dream, and we’re working our asses off to fulfill it. We can’t do it alone though – this is where you come in.
By joining us, you’d be part of the founding team, as we’re still very early in our inception. This means you get to gain equity in addition to a generous salary package! You’ll also be at the heart of the business and startup ecosystem in Asia, enabling you to make amazing connections to VCs, investors, governments, CEOs, and many more that you could never dream of while working in a traditional company.
Here’s what you’ll be doing
As CMO, your job stretches far and wide, literally. Your primary focus will be to gain leads for our sales ninjas to convert into customers, through digital and traditional means, both behind a desk and in the field, locally and internationally.
WORQ is still in pre-launch phase, which means there is still a lot to be done to build hype and demand. You’ll be tasked with further improving on, and executing, the existing marketing plan leading up to the launch and beyond.
You’ll need to craft a brilliant and coherent brand and message for WORQ, and grow our reputation as the best coworking space in all of Southeast Asia.
You get to be the nicest person under the spotlight as well, for you’ll be responsible for both Public Relations and media relations, ensuring we get maximum coverage every time we have a story to tell.
You’ll have to run a spectacular digital marketing program, covering all our bases in content marketing, email marketing, SEO, SEM, SMM, GDN, Pagerank, PPC, CTR, CPC/CPM/CPA, GA, and others.
As we expand across Southeast Asia, you’ll need to grow and manage your team. You’ll need to be familiar with different locales and be sensitive to the various cultures around the region.
You’ll also need to make partnerships with other companies, startups, government bodies, and others who will not only benefit our community of customers and business owners, but also enable us to cross-sell to each other’s customer list.
To succeed in this position, you need to have:
• Familiarity with digital marketing campaigns
• Rock-solid management skills to run a department and the outlet
• An amazing talent for execution and project management
• An uncanny ability to motivate and manage your team
• A sharp mind and a positive attitude
• The ability to tell a captivating story, both verbally and in writing
• At least 5 years of work experience in marketing, preferably in both digital and traditional sides of marketing
Bonus points if you have:
• An entrepreneurial mindset
• Good relations with the press
• Managed a marketing team before
• Real estate experience, especially involving tenants (e.g. shopping malls)
• Experience with WordPress websites, HTML, or coding in any discipline
